The journey begins.........

The Pilgrim Jiu-Jitsu story starts with a journey. Everyone has their own story of how they got to the mat. This one is no different.

Growing up in the Philly suburbs, the child of a California transplant and an Irish immigrant, Greg has lived the travel and the family life since birth. Most of early childhood was spent traveling to visit his large extended family and friends, scattered all over the United States and around the world. The feeling of community and diversity was instilled in him at an early age. With cousins from countless cultures and all walks of life, he learned that regardless of the differences among them, they were all family.

This childhood experience of travel, paired with a passion for physical activity, led to numerous trips all over the world. Climbing mountains, skiing down slopes, and surfing in exotic wave breaks all marked the entrance into adulthood.  The adventures experienced during these trips built timeless friendships that are still maintained today. Then Greg discovered jiu-jitsu.

Roughly 7 years ago. A life long love of the martial arts led to a chance trial class in Langhorne, PA.  This led to a summer membership at local jiu-jitsu school, resulting in an obsession that continues to this day . Greg hasn't left the mat since.

This history of adventure and travel, when paired with the opportunity to train jiu-Jitsu opened up doors, leading Greg to travel to places all over the world to train jiu-jitsu. From this pairing, Pilgrim Jiu-Jitsu was born. Pilgrim celebrates in that journey of sharing in everyone's unique story in life, both on and off the mats via competitions, Jiu-Jitsu Escapes, educational opportunities, and our podcast- The Kuzushi Podcast.
